FairShare

Split your super with your partner

You shouldn't be penalised for having children and/or making unpaid contributions to your family. At FairVine Super, we help couples share their superannuation when one partner has taken time off work or reduced their hours. Because it's the right thing to do.

How it works

Let us know who your partner is, and you can choose to share funds from your super account with theirs! There are two ways to do this:

Step 1
Let us know who your partner is via the FairVine member portal.

Step 2
Once your partner has accepted, choose whether you'd like to have a yearly split, or an automatic ongoing split.

Step 3
Sit back and relax, knowing both of you will be contributing to your super!

Choose how to FairShare

There are two ways to FairShare with your partner!

Contribution splitting

Each year, you can choose a percentage of your concessional contributions (from the previous financial year) to add to your partner's super account!

As an example, if you contributed $10,000 to your super in the last financial year, and you enable contribution splitting at 30%, you'd be adding $3,000 to your partner's super account!

Spouse contribution

You can turn on FairShare and split a percentage of your ongoing personal contributions (such as RoundUps, TopUps and FairRewards payments) into their super account automatically!

As an example, if you automatically TopUp $100 a week, and you enable spouse contribution at 50%, you'd be adding $50 to your partner's super account weekly!

Contribution splitting

Each year, you can nominate a percentage of your concessional contributions (from the previous financial year) and contribute to your partner’s super.

The Australian Government has this contribution split capped at 85% - so, if you contributed $10,000 in the previous year, you can contribute up to $8,500 to your partner's super!

We make it easy to contribution split in your FairVine member portal - simply choose the percentage amount, and you can see how much you'll be sharing with your partner every year.

Spouse contribution

Another way to FairShare is to have your concessional contributions go into your partner's account automatically.

You can do this by simply turning FairShare ON!

As an example, if you turn on FairShare at 30%, and then turn on automatic TopUps at $100 a week, you'll effectively pay $70 to yourself, and $30 to your partner's super - without having to think about it, every single week!

We make it easy in our member portal - simply choose the percentage amount that will go into your partner's super, and we'll transfer that percentage from your RoundUps, TopUps, and FairRewards contributions to your partner.

Rebecca

What a fantastic feature. There are so many things to pay for with a new baby, and I'm not getting paid super while I'm on maternity leave. Not having fees eating away my super balance is really reassuring - one less thing I have to worry about!!
